Four clear categories

What helps the store.
What waits for you.

Flowie’s default position is simple: essential technology can operate; optional analytics, preferences and marketing wait for the choice required by law.

01NecessaryAlways on

Security, cart, checkout, payment, account and consent-memory functions requested by you.

Consent not normally required
02AnalyticsYour choice

Helps us understand visits and improve the store without using the information for advertising.

Consent unless a narrow exception applies
03PreferencesYour choice

Remembers optional display or experience settings beyond what the service strictly needs.

Consent unless a narrow exception applies
04MarketingOff first

Measures campaigns, builds audiences or helps show advertising based on activity.

Consent required

The complete policy

A crumb-by-crumb
explanation.

This policy explains the cookies, pixels and similar storage or access technologies that may operate when you use Flowie’s Shopify store.

01
The basics

More than browser cookies.

A cookie is a small piece of information stored on your browser or device. This policy also covers similar technologies that store or access device information, including local storage, pixels, tags, software development kits and comparable identifiers.

CookiesRemember a session, basket or choice.Pixels and tagsRecord that a page, message or campaign was viewed.Local storageKeeps browser-side information used by a feature.Device identifiersHelp recognise a session or device where permitted.

Some technologies last only for the browser session. Persistent technologies remain until their expiry date or until removed. The duration depends on the purpose and provider.

02
PECR and UK GDPR

Categories and legal rules.

Where consent is required, it must be given through a clear positive action after understandable information has been provided. Optional technologies cannot operate first and ask later.

CommunicationTransmission only

A narrow exception can apply where the sole purpose is transmitting a communication.

Strictly necessaryService you request

An exception can apply to essential cart, security, checkout or authentication functions.

Statistical purposesImprove the service

A 2026 exception can apply only where the sole purpose is aggregated service statistics, individual data is not kept longer than needed, clear information is given and a simple free objection is available.

AppearanceYour display preference

A narrow exception can apply to adapting appearance or functionality to your preference, with clear information and a simple free objection.

Flowie’s practical positionWe do not stretch an exception.

Unless a technology is documented as meeting every condition of a legal exception, Flowie treats non-essential analytics, preference and marketing technologies as consent-based. Advertising and cross-service tracking require consent.

03
Core platform inventory

Shopify storefront cookies.

Our store is powered by Shopify. The following table reflects Shopify’s published merchant-storefront inventory dated 5 August 2026. A cookie may appear only when its related feature is used, and Shopify may update names, purposes or durations.

See Shopify’s current Cookie Policy for its complete and most recent platform inventory. Shop Pay, Login with Shop and customer-account surfaces may use additional technologies under Shopify’s own notices.

04
Apps, pixels and embeds

Additional providers.

Installed apps, advertising pixels, embedded video, reviews, chat or analytics tools can use additional technologies. The list below must reflect the services Flowie actually enables.

Current provider listNo additional optional provider is listed in this version.

If Flowie enables another app, pixel, embed or tracking service, we will update this list and the consent controls before its technology operates.

05
Accept, reject or change

Your consent and controls.

Our Shopify consent mechanism records choices for necessary, analytics, preference and marketing categories. Consent requires a positive action: continuing to browse, inactivity or a pre-ticked choice does not count.

You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. Withdrawal affects future operation and does not make earlier consent-based activity unlawful. Rejecting optional technologies should not prevent core shopping and checkout functions.

Change a choiceOpen “Cookie preferences” in the Flowie footer.

Shopify provides the persistent preference route across the storefront and, when configured, checkout and customer accounts.

06
Device-level choices

Browser controls.

Most browsers let you inspect, delete or block cookies through privacy or site-data settings. You may also be able to clear local storage or restrict tracking technologies at browser or device level.

07
Personal information

Data and retention.

Storage and access technologies can involve personal information, such as an IP address, device identifier, browsing activity, consent choice or link to an order. Our Privacy Policy explains the controller, lawful bases, recipients, international transfers, retention and customer rights.

Session technologyEnds with the session

Normally removed when the browser session ends.

Persistent technologyUntil expiry or deletion

Remains for its stated duration unless removed earlier.

Consent evidenceWhile we rely on the choice

Kept as needed to demonstrate what was chosen and when.

Statistical exceptionAggregate promptly

Individual-level information is retained only as long as needed for aggregation.

08
Keeping the inventory accurate

Changes and contact.

We review this policy when Shopify changes its inventory or Flowie adds, removes or changes an app, pixel, embed or tracking purpose. The latest version appears here with its effective date.

If a new non-exempt purpose requires consent, it will not rely silently on an old choice that did not cover it. We will update the information and request a fresh choice where required.
